The Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office is seeking information on a suspect involved in home invasions around the Sun City Center area.
According to Debbie Carter, sheriff's office public information officer, between Feb. 3 and Feb 16, three home invasion robberies occurred. Carter said a Hispanic male in his late 20s has been posing as a pest control employee, entering homes and spraying an unknown substance from a spray bottle. In each case, the suspect then sprays the victim on the arm or hand and rushes them to the sink, telling them to remove their jewelry. He then takes the jewelry and flees the home.
It is believed the victims have been followed home from a store or shopping center to their homes before the offenses were committed.
The suspect is described as being between 5 foot, 7 inches tall and 5 foot, 9 inches tall, medium build, black hair, dark complexion and possibly with a mustache. He was last seen wearing a hat, a light-colored flannel shirt, jeans and black, cloth gloves, driving a small, tan, four-door car of unknown make and model.
Anyone with information is asked to call the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office, (813) 247-8200 or (800) 873-8477.
