SUN CITY CENTER - I am saddened, disappointed and angered, yes, angered at WCI.
For some weeks now, little snippets of information have been coming my way about plans to close the North Lakes golf course. I've heard about these plans from three WCI employees and actually, I think the 'snippets' were intentional and weren't so much "information" as they were not so thinly veiled threats.
I suspect some of these came in my direction because (1) I am a director of the SCC Community Association and (2) I write this column, which for better or worse, has a certain following and readership — not all of which agrees with me on anything, much less everything.
For three months now, the Community Association Task Force on opening up the 1984 Agreement which restricts play on the North Lakes Course to CA members has been working diligently to come up with a solution to this problem and let WCI make some additional money off the North Course. But it looks like "some" money is not enough for the greedy lads from Bonita Springs.
