SCC Swim Dancers Rehearse

Verlee Clinefelter, the president of the Sun City Center Swim Dancers, said the team is getting ready for their annual swim show.

Ten members of the synchronized swim team recently drove to Palm Harbor to be guest performers in the annual swim show hosted by the Highland Lakes Synchro-Belles. The show featured music from the "Swinging 60s, along with a request for "Take Me Out to the Ballgame," as performed by the SCC team. The women also swam to "California Girls."

The team is beginning rehearsals to get ready for their own annual swim show on March 14, 2009. With the new format, the swimmers present their show twice on the same day, instead of one show on Saturday and one show on Sunday.

Clinefelter said now is the best time for interested women to become part of the group, and get in on the ground floor of rehearsal walk-thru's and swim-thru's. Practices are at 7:30 p.m. on Monday and Wednesday evenings and 7:30 on Friday mornings. Interested swimmers need no experience, but should be comfortable with basic swim strokes.
